Hey guys you may have observed that a television can be turned off by using a timer and when the timer finishes, it automatically turns off , you can do exactly the same with your PC.

How to shut down your pc on a timer


Create a shortcut by right clicking on desktop {If you have a problem which shows 'This is no longer located' then you can go to this previous post of mine}.

After right clicking the shortcut you may get a dialog box like one below.

In that dialog box enter the following command
Shutdown -s -t 1800 and click next.


Remember that 1800 is the seconds for example 30 minutes would count as 1800 seconds (30m*60s=1800s)
Name it as Shutdown 30 minutes.


click ok.

 Double click the Shutdown 30 minutes.

And that's it now you have set a timer for 30 minutes.

                         Cancel Shutdown timer

open run by pressing shortcut key Win +R.



Type the following command in Run 
shutdown -a
